Spit bags

This week, in an effort to combat SARS, China's "Communist Party Central Committee's Spiritual Civilization Office gave its imprimatur to the war against spit, issuing a 'Directive on Launching Activities to Transform Vile Habits.'" [article in the New York Times]

In other words, spit bags. "The bags read: 'Spitting on the ground is dangerous to your health and spit contains infectious diseases. But with one small bag in your hands your health will always be invincible.'" Not bad.

Also, there's an article in Salon.com about Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.

Aha!

Now! Now people will see it. Now.

That's all. Thank you.

Oh, there's an interesting article in the New York Times about dealing with change in the kilogram standard.

This is a test of Movable Type

Nobody will see this for a while, seeing as it's set up on a server that madhava.com won't point to for about a week or so. This is part of the big switch from Blogger to Movable Type, which, so far, seems like it will be worth it once I get use to the way things work.

There are quite a few new sets of photos online. Some are from the trip to Boston:

Others are from a day on Ward's Island:

There are some from the ORYC 20th anniversary reunion, but they're not fully captioned yet. Soon.
